A donation from The Mosaic Company resulted in the construction of a new education building for the Carlsbad Early College High School, dedicated Sept. 15 on the campus of Southeast New Mexico Community College.
Paul Gill, general manager for The Mosaic Company, said the company was thrilled to be a part of project and was dedicated to helping educate the children of Carlsbad and inspire educational and career growth.
Gill, accompanied by New Mexico Rep. Cathrynn Brown, Carlsbad Mayor Dale Janway, President of Southeast New Mexico Community College Dr. Andrew Nwanne and Superintendent of Carlsbad Municipal Schools Dr. Gerry Washburn, helped cut the ribbon for the new facility.
The building will house science classrooms, the Academic achievement Center and the school’s college and career readiness programs.
Gregory vanGoidtsnoven, principal of the Early College High School, said the addition of the new building could not have been possible without the generous half-million-dollar contribution from the Mosaic Corporation.
