
Carlsbad Rotary Club students of the month
Loving High School students were selected as part of the Rotary Club of Carlsbad’s Students of the Month program.
October
Faith McDonald and Rolando Armendariz were selected as the October students of the Month.
McDonald is a senior and a member of the National Honor Society, LHS Student Senate, LHS Student Body Secretary. She plays varsity volleyball, basketball, track and field and softball. McDonald committed verbally to play softball for Dawson Community College (MT).
She enjoys hunting and bee farming and plans to study cosmetology.
Armendariz is a junior and a member of the National Honor Society and Falcon News.
He plays varsity football. His interests lie in bodybuilding, automotive studies and music.
November
Jaylin Sotelo and Bernardo Fernandez were chosen as the November students of the month.
Sotelo is a senior and a member of the National Honor Society, Falcon News and school year.
She is a cheerleader who enjoys spending time with family, drawing and doing her makeup.
Sotelo said she is interested in attending New Mexico State University, Eastern New Mexico University or Texas Tech University.
Fernandez is a junior and a member of the Falcon News.
He plays basketball and enjoys strength and conditioning, working on cars, skateboarding and video games.
He is considering attending college at New Mexico State University.
