Tickets remain on sale for a performance by a country music group with 10 chart-topping songs over a nearly 30-year period, said Renee Puckett from the Liberty social club in Roswell.
Lonestar takes the stage after warmup act Will Bannister at 8 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Walter Gerrells Performing Arts and Exhibition Center in Carlsbad, Puckett said.
Lonestar’s first hit was in 1996 with “No News.” Lonestar won the Country Music Association (CMA) Vocal Group of the Year and International Artist Achievement Award in 2001, read the band’s website.
Lonestar’s 1999 album “Lonely Grill” had four No. 1 hits, including what could be called the group’s signature song “Amazed.”
The group’s 2023 tour promotes the forthcoming release of its new album “Ten to 1,” stated the website.
Lonestar’s tour starts Feb. 10 in Concord, New Hampshire. After the Feb. 17 concert in Carlsbad the tour heads to Tucson Feb. 18 and the tour concludes Aug. 4 in Canada, read the website.
Puckett said the Liberty hosts comedy shows and concerts at the Roswell location. She said Carlsbad was chosen as the place for Lonestar and Will Bannister as the Liberty does not have the space to host the concert in Roswell.
Puckett said in past years southeast New Mexicans had to travel to larger cities like Albuquerque, Lubbock and El Paso for concerts and other forms of live entertainment.
“I think that’s changing a lot and there’s more going on,” she said.
Puckett said general admission tickets start at $46 and may be purchased online at www.thelibertyinc.com.
